Granfers Hall Community Centre
Location: London Borough of Sutton
Project Value: GBP £2,200,000
Site Area: 1,500M2
Sector: Social Infrastructure - Community
An example of HOCA's ability to function effectively with building users is demonstrated at Granfers Hall where the user client, who is a Charitable Trust, realised during early construction stage that they did not have sufficient office space.
HOCA responded to this situation immediately and presented a solution to solve the problem within one week. Further, this solution also allowed the construction to proceed uninterrupted and was incorporated into the scheme as a natural course of events. We identified the need to cater for a number of varying personalities with the client regime. Given the client was a charitable trust with twenty trustees voicing their particular concerns we agreed a strategy for ensuring a full reporting system existed for the whole Trust.
HOCA encouraged the Trust to appoint a client representative who would work on a one-to-one basis with us and report back to the Trust Committee Meetings. They appointed a Client Representative who took an in-depth interest in every aspect of the project.
We reported personally to the Trust Committee Meetings every three months, and played a major role in assisting with the preparation of information necessary for the Client's Lottery Bid Application.
The HOCA Practice has been working with Local Government since 2002. We are very familiar with clients requirements for public building some of which include; Schools, Social Care, Libraries, Leisure and Recreational and Council Commercial building projects.
